The escargot and mussels were the perfect appetizers. From the hostess to our waiter and chef coming around to check on our table, the experience was phenomenal! We can't wait to go back and enjoy many more meals at Duck City Bistro
Very welcoming place with a fun vibe. The chef walks you through some of the menu as you walk in and the servers were all very attentive. While the food wasn't amazing, it was consistently good and the portions were generous. I recommend giving it a try.
The shrimp cocktail and table bread (served with confit garlic) were really great. We also enjoyed the spinach salad and garlic salad, though both agreed that the vinaigrette on the spinach salad was excellent. We ordered the lamb, the filet mignon, and the fries, which are fried in duck fat and delicious, all together. The portions were huge, and we had not realized the entrees came with a side already (mashed potatoes & veggies). Although the sides are perhaps not clear from the menu, it should have been clear to us from the examples the chef showed us, so that oversight is definitely on us.
Overall the food was good, although I did think the sauces could have had more depth of flavor. Even adding some caramelized garlic or onion would have made a huge difference. The bernaise that came with the fries was odd, (thick almost like a seasoned butter) and looked broken. The carrot cake was good, and a regular size, although it appeared small in comparison to the rest of the menu portions.
I’m a vegetarian and had a team dinner here. Frankly, I had no expectations since the menu does not have any veggie Entree mentioned but when I shared my vegetarian dietary restriction, he suggested making a vegetarian meal on fire. I had no idea what to expect. But, I had one of the best meals of my life. Highly recommend.
This was our first time at Duck City Bistro and it far exceeded our expectations. The moment we walked in the door we were greeted by the Executive Chef/Owner, Jeremy, who took us to an entree display to explain some of the dishes with much entertaining enthusiasm. Our meals were fantastic and we left stuffed! Heard the appetizers are delicious but glad we didn’t get any as the dinners were plentiful. The service is outstanding, quick, courteous, and efficient.
⭐️10/10 recommend. We’ll definitely be back!
This was the first time we’ve had the opportunity to dine at Duck City. We had a great experience. We were greeted at the door by the chef who explained the menu in a fun informative way. The atmosphere, the service and food were excellent. The chef checked on us quite often during dinner. The next time we are in the QC; Duck City will be on our schedule. We loved it.
This is hands down my absolute favorite restaurant in the Quad cities area. They make you feel welcome and go out of their way to ensure a great experience. The duck is my favorite, cooked perfectly with duck cracklings that are amazing. I also can’t recommend enough the French fries which are cooked in duck fat and taste better than any fry you’ve ever had.
Highly recommended.
This isn't just a nice place to get a great meal. The atmosphere and attitudes were amazing. The owner and head chef is welcoming, engaging and very genuine. The staff were efficient, proficient and friendly.
The food was spectacular!!. Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. My wife didn't even need to add salt to her dishes and that's her favourite spice. The garlic salad is intense but delicious, not for the faint of heart however. The lamb left me floating in food nirvana....
I haven't felt completely sated in a long, long time.
Duck City Bistro was THE dining experience I've been seeking. The lack of pretentiousness was refreshing.
Bravo 👏
I've been coming here for a really long time I come at least a few times a year they always treat me with much respect this place definitely doesn't discriminate I've also gone wearing sweatpants the chef and the workers are amazing and the presentation of the food is always great to hear and see
